‘Het komt goed’ heb ik geschreven in de zomer van 2015 na de eerste berichten dat mensen in gammele bootjes zeeën overstaken om het geweld in eigen land te ontvluchten. Mijn gedachte bij het schrijven van dit lied was: wat zeg je als ouder tegen je kind voordat je in zo’n boot stapt? Je weet wat de gevaren zijn, je weet dat het mis kan gaan. Ik denk toch dat je dan, ook omdat je niets anders wil, tegen je kind zegt: ‘het komt goed’.
